IBS América Latina GmbH is a business development office in Berlin, Germany, which assists European companies to develop business in Latin America. In the same way, we give consulting and practical support to Latin American companies which seek business in Europe, mainly in Germany.

IBS América Latina GmbH cooperates with international organizations (EU, UNIDO) being their German counterpart for programmes which aim at intensifying commercial, technical and scientific cooperation between Europe and Latin America. IBS Latin America is permanently involved in ongoing projects of these institutions, is member of competent networks and maintains relationships with a huge variety of companies on both continents.

Business Meetings

On behalf of German institutions or international organizations, IBS Latin America organizes Business Meetings, Seminars, Company Presentations, Technology Workshops and Business Information Tours in Europe or Latin America. Till now, we have organized or co-organized more than 20 sectorial Business Meetings in Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Bogotá, Lima, Santa Cruz, Panama City, La Havana, Mexico City, Paris, Duesseldorf, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt and Leipzig in which participated more than 1.500 companies.

Devnet is an international non-profit No-Governmental Organization and a First Category Consultancy Group of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).

The mission of Devnet is to foster the achievement of the following objetives:

  • Make available to institutions and companies in developing countries information, communication instruments and high quality services which help them to compete and make successful business in a global market.

  • To participate actively in the development of a Global Electronic Business System through which small and medium sized companies from developing countries have democratic access to business-relevant information and can participate in equal conditions.

  • To promote alliances between entrepreneurial organizations to achieve a maximum of contacts between the affiliated companies.

  • To foster the use of information technologies and telematics in modern business administration.

Therefore, Devnet has developed and implemented its main instrument, the Technological and Commercial Information Promotion System (TIPS), and a series of additional services related to the use and management of information thus supporting the integration of new web technology, intranet-extranet applications and other internet features into business administration.

TIPS processes and offers business-relevant information: Offers and demands for products, services and technologies. This information is obtained from direct contacts to thousands of companies and is maid available exlusively on its business portalL www.tips.org.uy .

Devnet is as well executing programmes and specific projects which mainly intend to facilitate the integration of SME and TIC.

These programmes are co-financed by several international entities, among which the European Commission (EC), the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB) , the Development Agency of the United States ( USAID), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Organization for Industrial Development (ONUDI) and the United Nations Women´s Fund (UNIFEM) should be especially mentioned.

More than 700.000 companies have participated in the activities or used the services of Devnet/TIPS throughout its 14 years of global operation.
